Dr. Shabir Bharadia received his B.S in chemistry and biology at Eureka College, Illinois, in 1985 graduating

with honors.  He went to Indiana University, School of Optometry  for his post-graduate studies.

 

At Indiana, he was a teaching assistant for Pathology, president of the National Optometric Association (NOSA),

a member of American Optometric Students Association (AOSA), and a member of Volunteer Optometric Services

to Humanity (VOSH). Upon graduation, He accompanied

a group of VOSH members to the Honduras which had a profound affect on him for the need of humanitarian aid for the less fortunate .

 

He married in 1992 to Charlene and they have one son, Imran. They  moved to Columbia in 1995 and have become involved in numerous activities. They  enjoy fishing, camping, swimming, and biking. They also enjoy the South Carolina State Museum and the Riverbanks Zoo.

 

Dr. Shabir  is known for his expertise in fitting contact lenses on patients with different prescriptions. He strongly believes  that anyone who desires contact lenses can usually be fitted comfortably with contacts . He has been practicing Optometry since his graduation from Indiana University. He is licensed to practice in Indiana, Colorado and South Carolina.
